Gender-Affirming Voice Therapy

We strive to provide an assessment and goals that are completely client-driven. Our clinicians have experience with a wide range of client needs. Sessions can be focused on emulating a particular sound by providing voice samples or exploring different ranges and sounds. The areas of voice we usually address are resonance, pitch, breathiness, intonation, vocal tension, and pragmatic language. We prioritize scheduling patients with the highest medical acuity, and we consider any sort of harm, be it dysphoria or otherwise, that is a result of one's voice to be acute.

Vocal pitch/range (to use a higher or lower voice)

Resonance, or the tone/quality of speech

Nonverbal communication, such as mannerisms and body postures/positioning

Intonation, or the melody of speech

Vocabulary, or word choice
